ILJIN declares the following for the practice of ESG management to develop corporate social and environmental responsibility and business ethics.
E. ILJIN is committed to identifying environmental impacts in its manufacturing processes and minimizing negative impacts on communities, the environment, and natural resources.
S. IJIN fulfills its social responsibility by promoting communication management based on respect for the human rights and labor of its employees and other stakeholders.

  • 1Environmental policy

    1. ILJIN strictly complies with international agreements and laws related to the environment, establishes and operates internal standards that are stricter than legal requirements, and continuously improves environmental performance.

    2. ILJIN minimizes environmental impact by reducing the use of hazardous substances and the emission of pollutants through Eco-friendly process operation.

    3. ILJIN evaluates the environmental impact of all processes from product design to production, use, and disposal, and strives to develop eco-friendly products.

    4. ILJIN minimizes greenhouse gas emissions by optimizing energy efficiency, investing in carbon reduction technologies, and expanding the use of renewable energy.

    5. ILJIN executives and employees voluntarily participate in activities to reduce energy use, save resources, and recycle.

  • 2Health & Safety policy

    1. ILJIN strictly complies with internal and external laws related to safety and health, establishes and operates internal standards that are stricter than legal requirements, and continuously improves safety and health performance.

    2. ILJIN fully supports the elimination of risks in the workplace and continuously reviews and improves safety and health management activities to contribute to improving the health and quality of life of workers.

    3. ILJIN raises the safety and health awareness of employees, partners, and other stakeholders through continuous education and training and communication, and creates a corporate culture in which they voluntarily participate in safety and health management activities.

    4. ILJIN actively conducts safety education, training, and on-site accident prevention activities to prevent major industrial and civil accidents.

  • 3Ethics policy

    1. The highest standards of integrity should be upheld in all business interactions.

    2. ILJIN should have a zero-tolerance policy to prohibit any and all forms of bribery, corruption, extortion and embezzlement.

    3. Bribes or other means of obtaining undue or improper advantage should not be promised, offered, authorized, given, or accepted.

    4. All business dealings should be transparently performed and accurately reflected on the ILJIN’s business books and records.

    5. Information regarding ILJIN’s labor, health and safety, environmental practices, business activities, structure, financial situation, and performance should be disclosed in accordance with applicable regulations and prevailing industry practices.

    6. Falsification of records or misrepresentation of conditions or practices in the supply chain are unacceptable.

    7. Transfer of technology and know-how is to be done in a manner that protects intellectual property rights, and customer and supplier information should be safeguarded..

    8. Standards of fair business, advertising, and competition are to be upheld.

    9. Programs that ensure the confidentiality, anonymity, and protection of whistleblowers should be maintained, unless prohibited by law.

    10. ILJIN is to commit to protecting the reasonable privacy expectations of personal information of everyone they do business with, including suppliers, customers, consumers, and employees.

    11. ILJIN is to comply with privacy and information security laws and regulatory requirements when personal information is collected, stored, processed, transmitted, and shared.

  • 4Labor policy

    1. ILJIN does not discriminate in employment and work for reasons including ethnicity, race, nationality, sex, religion, place of birth, disability, marriage, pregnancy, child delivery, political orientation, gender identity, and labor union membership.

    2. ILJIN bans all brutal and inhuman acts, including mental or physical violence, sexual violence, harassment, or abuse, punishment, psychological or physical coercion, torment, and verbal abuse. The Company clearly defines disciplinary policies and procedures immediately applicable in cases of violations.

    3. ILJIN sets the working hours of its employees, reflecting the characteristics of tasks and in compliance with the relevant laws and regulations of each country, and complies with regulations regarding extended, night and holiday work, break time, and holiday.

    4. ILJIN also conforms to rules, policies, and standards on working conditions, including minimum wage guarantee and social insurance, and also strives to secure wage levels surpassing living wages so that employees and their family can maintain a decent standard of living.

    5. ILJIN follows the minimum age for employment standards stipulated in the regulations of each country and region, and it does not allow any form of child labor.

    6. ILJIN bans all modern forms of slavery, including forced labor, bonded labor, involuntary servitude, human trafficking for exploitation, and human rights crimes related to deprivation of liberty, in principle.

    7. ILJIN assures labor based on an individual’s free will, does not unreasonably restrain mental or physical freedom, force labor against employees’ free will, and requires transfer of personal documents, such as a passport or an ID card, as conditions to hiring.

    8. All work should be done voluntarily, and employees have the freedom to quit or resign from the job without any disadvantages when sending contractually reasonable notices. Also, the workers’ exit/entry and movement to common rooms, plants, and dorms within the place of business are not limited without.

    9. ILJIN fulfills its duties to respect and protect the human rights of vulnerable workers, including females, workers with disabilities, and foreign workers.

    10. ILJIN follows standards based on the Personal Information Protection Act to prevent the loss, theft, leak, forgery, or damage of personal information of employees, clients, and visitors. Also, the Company applies safety measures prescribed by the Personal Information Protection Commission to ensure the safety of private information and technical and administrative protection measures.

    11. ILJIN ensures the right to form and join labor unions and collective bargaining to all employees, following each country’s relevant labor laws and collective agreements, and in no case discriminates or unfairly treats for the reason of relevant actions.

    12. ILJIN endeavors to prevent the abuse of the human rights of residents running businesses in the community and conserves the environment. ILJIN respects and defends residents’ right to life, freedom of movement, right to personal safety, and property ownership, and listens and tries to reflect stakeholders’ opinions in the local community.

    13. ILJIN regularly inspects facilities and equipment in the place of business for all the employees to work in a safe working condition, takes appropriate actions to provide support to prevent physical and mental risks, and manages afterward.

    14. ILJIN appropriately manages and acts to prevent human rights violations in the supply chain.

    1. ILJIN encourages and supports its partners to actively participate in ESG sustainable management activities by promoting the ILJIN Group's code of conduct and collecting compliance pledges from its supplier.

    2. ILJIN considers the social and environmental factors of the target organization when signing all contracts and provides differentiated incentives to excellent suppliers.

    3. ILJIN regularly analyzes and evaluates the CSR risks of its suppliers, and, when necessary, conducts surveys and on-site inspections of its supplier employees.

    4. ILJIN promotes and supports self-education of its suppliers to spread sustainable management within the supply chain.

    5. ILJIN sets goals for sustainable procurement and continuously monitors its suppliers.

    6. ILJIN should adopt a policy and exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of the tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold, and cobalt in the products they manufacture to reasonably assure that they are sourced in a way Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict- Affected and High-Risk Areas or an equivalent and recognized due diligence framework.
